This is another packed release of new features that our developers have incorporated into Kalcium Release 6.7.1. No less than 50 ideas, feedback, or suggestions from you, our customer base, have made Kalcium Quickterm even better. Thank you for being so helpful. We look forward to further suggestions from you!
Out of a total of 131 features, improvements, and fixes, here's a compact excerpt:

Retrieval Endpoint for AI Applications, Terminology Augmented Generation comes alive
We are expanding our AI range with the Retrieval Endpoint for AI applications, bridging the gap between AI and terminology teams. With this Retrieval Endpoint, terminology managers can configure precise search settings (language, search type, filters, output fields, etc.) to deliver exactly the desired information – rather than the complete and hard-to-process entries.
Furthermore, using the same logic as Kalcium Publishing, any target format can be generated, from "heavy" TBX to lightly structured JSON or Markdown formats and even prose. All these settings can be saved in a profile.
When calling the API endpoint, the AI development team simply provides the search text, language combination, and desired retrieval profile, and receives precise results.
User Experience
You may recall: We are improving the agility and user experience of Kalcium. The next stages of this initiative include:
- Agile Workflows: It's now possible to mark workflows as "agile." When starting these workflows, a new assistant appears, enabling the task to be assigned directly to individual users instead of the entire pre-defined group. This option is available for both individual entries and terminology projects.
- Another assistant simplifies configurations that involve connected steps. For example, after a new field in the termbase schema is created, Kalcium displays all subsequent steps and also provides links to jump directly to those steps.
New Editor Options
- Batch Editor
With this new mode, entries can be searched or filtered as before. The result is then displayed as a table, enabling batch editing of fields at the entry, language, and term level, as well as names themselves - New Features in the Entry Editor
- It's now possible to use a hotkey in the entry editor to jump from one field to the next.
- In the Entry Editor, text fields do not automatically open in large formatting mode but remain single-line. Clicking the formatting button still opens the formatting mode, but this improvement prevents the entry from "jumping around" in the editor.
- You can now enter scientific formulas in text fields. We use the highly flexible LaTeX format (latex.org/) for this. If LaTeX is new to you, check it out here.
Other New Features
Of the many other new features, only two for Kalcium Checkterm should be mentioned here:
- "Select all" is now available in the AI replacement dialog
- In the entry navigation (concept maps), the stylesheet for the display can now be selected (was previously set in the group settings).
